Course Description
What This Course Is About
Nature can change the way we perceive things when we
begin to give it more attention. This course is not about simply looking at
landscapes, plants, trees, water or animals, but about experiencing our
surroundings more consciously through all the senses. We take time to slow
down, listen to sounds, feel the wind on the skin, notice the ground beneath
our feet and become more aware of those subtle impressions that are easily
overlooked in everyday life.
Whether in a forest, on a meadow, beside a stream, among
fields or in a quiet place beneath the open sky, every environment has its own
atmosphere. When we allow ourselves to engage with it, our own experience can
begin to change as well. Attention can widen, thoughts may become quieter,
physical sensations may come into clearer focus, and things that usually remain
in the background can become noticeable again.
For me, this is part of what gives nature its particular
quality. It asks nothing of us and does not require a specific interpretation.
I experience it as a space in which it can become easier to step out of our
usual pace and notice more closely what is actually happening within us and
around us.
This course does not follow a rigid structure and has no
performance goal. It is not about achieving something specific or creating a
particular kind of experience. The focus is on conscious perception, slowness,
direct experience and openness to the fact that every moment may reveal itself
differently.
Spirituality may have a place here too, without every
perception needing to be interpreted as spiritual. Nature can move us, calm us,
open questions or simply be experienced as what it is in that particular
moment. For me, that is where much of its strength lies.
This course invites you to meet your surroundings with
greater attention and to notice what begins to change when, for a while, you do
not have to achieve anything and can simply perceive.
